As a painter I hope to celebrate the diversity, energy and excitement of the landscape both in London where I live and, in the countryside, where I also love to walk.

I am keen to draw attention to the wilder and greener places within urban areas which are so important to the wellbeing of all those who live in cities.

As a GP I am also interested in creativity for mental health and Community Art.

Some of my paintings are for sale. Please contact me if you want to find out more about my work.

Kate Reeve- Edwards

“Sophy Wollaston’s work responds to natural spaces in urban areas. These green spaces hold an importance to her; as a GP she recognises they are essential to our wellbeing. They foster community and are visual representations of positive change. Formally, they provide a contrast to the hard lines and glinting buildings of London. Allotments are a place of interest: the paraphernalia of tumbled-down greenhouses, singular water cans and the structures of vegetable patches create a joyful jumble of pattern which Wollaston abstracts in her work. Her pieces are a riot of colour, as this is what she is naturally drawn to. By painting plein air, she is instinctively responding to how she sees, casting each place with her energetic brushstrokes.”
